In light of my upcoming move to Whanganui, New Zealand with my husband, J, I have had many exciting conversations with friends and family over the past few weeks. During many of them, people said, "Make sure to send pictures," "Please keep us up to date," "I'll be interested to hear what you think of it there,"etc. Inspired by these comments, I decided to start a "Moving to New Zealand" blog, and go very energized about the idea. I came home yesterday, figured out how to start a blog, picked a background, fonts, etc., came up with a boring name, sat down to write, and...... turns out, I have no idea how to write a blog. Oops.
I do not read blogs (I prefer novels), and all of the writing I've done for the past seven years has been theoretical and/or empirical Early Childhood Education papers or analyses of French Literature (wonderful, but not very blog-like). My forays into journaling over the years have largely served to remind me that I like the idea of journaling much more than the reality.
In conclusion, I believe I will have to rely much more on the (hopefully) fascinating information that will come out of moving to New Zealand than on any blogging skill of my own. We shall see.
